I was told by a very reliable experienced colleague, a pulmonologist, that she was paid 5.000 (five) HUF the hour when the patient was charged 40 000 (forty) for 30 minutes. This happened in maybe the fanciest private clinic in Budapest, about two years ago. The doctor is not available for them anymore, but with the current income level of doctors in Hungarian hospitals there is always someone forced to take an offer like this. Needless to say, this may not be the most experienced specialist in the respective field. (Although he may, but would you know?)
